Ideally, I would spend the whole day reading the Bible and praising the Lord (right after I do one more thing on my computer…lol). But in the real world, I barely have time to pray some days it seems. I can honestly say that I am getting better about talking to God every day but I have to admit that it was a habit that I had to work on. There was a time when I didn’t even think about praying for days or even weeks. I envy my wife her job as a preacher sometimes… but most of the time… not so much.
Imagine…He is watching you every morning when you wake up. Have you ever watched your child as they wake up? Imagine now that your child just gets up and goes about the business of the day and never even looks at you or acknowledges you at all. It makes me want to cry when I think about how many times I’ve done just that.
After everything He has done for us it is just plain rude not too at least say “Good morning” to our God upon rising before we get lost in the events of the day. To make it a habit I actually used to put a sticky note on the alarm clock for a while to remind me. Now it is a habit that I cherish greatly. It at least gets me started on the right freeway… although it’s really easy to get lost.
